Color Blast 5k Fun Run is a unique experience focused less on speed and more on crazy color fun with friends and family. Color runners come from all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds; but everyone toeing the start line has a blast. Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3.1 mile course is the most memorable and colorful run of your life!

After the race in 2013, Aleander and Company CPAs PSC employees distributed more than 1,000 peanut butter crackers to all of the participants in the Color Blast 5k Fun Run. We invite all our clients and friends to join us again on March 21, 2015 for this worthwhile fundraiser.

They say doing time changes you. That couldn’t be more true when business and community leaders agree to be part of the MDA Lock-Up! By agreeing to do time, these leaders from all around Kentucky go behind bars as they raise bail money to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Joseph Keller, CPA, our Director of Audit and Assurance Services chose to to "do time" in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Lockup. He raised over $800 for the support of local MDA families.

The MDA Lock-Up is a community event that is a unique and fun way to help local children and adults who live with muscle disease. By being an MDA Jailbird, you’ll ask your family, friends and business contacts to make donations to your “bail”, which are funds that will help MDA in its mission of curing muscular dystrophy, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and related diseases by funding worldwide research, providing comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.

Amy Jackson with the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce said, "It's a great event because all the money stays local. It goes directly to 40 families here in the local area that are affected by muscular dystrophy. Whether it's sending them to camp, whether it's keeping their medical equipment up, helping them improve their homes so that they can care for themselves."

Each year, Jennifer Estes, CPA leads our Alexander & Company CPAs PSC team in raising funds and the donation of time in support of the local Christmas Wish program.

The WBKR-WOMI Christmas Wish program is in its 37th year.  Every year the Owensboro community contributes so much by adopting letters, volunteering long hours of work or just by staying interested.

The 37th Annual Telecom Pioneers WBKR/WOMI Christmas Wish was officially a success! 1,159 wish letters from families that had on average three children. Donors helped fulfill 960 letters and made sure those children will have a smile on their face come Christmas morning!

Donors contributed $61,000 in cash and over $61,000 in toys and gifts.

A program like CW relies greatly on so many people and organizations. We would like to say “Thank You” to everyone who contributed in any way to this year’s success

Alexander & Company CPAs PSC was selected as a 2012 United Way Pacesetter Company. We take pride in helping to lead the Owensboro community in recognizing and donating to all of the great organizations supported by our local United Way.

The mission of the United Way of the Ohio Valley is to unite the citizens of our partnership communities into an organized effort to provide funds to meet current and emerging human service needs that are best provided through the voluntary sector.

The United Way of the Ohio Valley is a regional organization of people striving to advance the common good by focusing on Education, Income and Health. These are the building blocks for a good life - a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement and good health.

Our goal is to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place. We invite you to be part of the change.

By giving to United Way, you help to ensure families are financially stable, that their children receive the education they need and that they have necessary access to health services.

Junior Achievement (JA) empowers young people to own their economic success. Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential. Kisha Logsdon, a senior in our assurrance services at Alexander and Company CPAs PSC, has donated over three years of her time and talents to the cause.

Junior Achievement impacted more than 4.2 million U.S. students in more than 183,000 classrooms in the 2011-2012 school year. With the help of 178,000 volunteers, JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21st-century global marketplace

There are more than 120 JA Areas operating across the United States. Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, these JA Areas help young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school. JA inspires students to develop competitive skills and confidence. Their success bolsters the local workforce and contributes to economic growth.
